After attending the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA
I was offered a job painting large murals for natural history
exhibits in museums around the world. This type of artwork
doesn't usually bring much recognition to the artists but it was
a wonderful career and I can honestly say I have artwork in
approximately 20 museums around the world. It wasnt until 2013
that I decided to begin painting for galleries.
My
training at the Art Center College not only taught me great
draftsmanship but it also gave me a deep
understanding of abstraction and technique. I love the
"chess" like experience that comes with creating a work of
contemporary art; It's as though you add a line here and the
painting demands another move, and so on, until balance and
harmony wins the "game" and all dimensions of the painting such
as: texture, color, drawing skill, depth, composition, etc. all
come together to present a hopefully beautiful experience for
the viewer.
